5-Day Devotional: When Jesus Finds You

Day 1: God Is Pursuing You
Scripture: Luke 19:10
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Sometimes we imagine that finding God is the result of our own searching. But Scripture tells a different story. Long before we ever seek Him, God is already pursuing us.
Sophie’s story reminds us that God was working behind the scenes for years—through relationships, conversations, a gifted Bible, even social media posts. None of it was accidental. Every step was part of God’s loving pursuit.
Perhaps you’ve wondered if God notices your life. He does. He sees every question, every hurt, every longing, and every circumstance. He often works quietly before we even recognize His hand.
The beautiful truth is this: God delights in drawing people to Himself.

Prayer
Father, thank You for pursuing me with Your love. Help me recognize the ways You are drawing me closer to You each day. Amen.
Day 2: Peace Through Surrender
Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.ill guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Many people believe Christians have fewer problems. The truth is that followers of Jesus face the same hardships as everyone else.
The difference is where we take them.
One of the greatest discoveries in Sophie’s journey was realizing that true peace comes through surrender. God’s peace isn’t based on perfect circumstances; it comes from placing our lives into His capable hands.
Whatever weighs heavily on you today, Jesus invites you to give it to Him.

Prayer
Lord, I give You my worries, fears, and uncertainties. Teach me to trust You and experience the peace only You can give. Amen.
Day 3: God Speaks Through His Word
Scripture: Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
Opening the Bible can sometimes feel overwhelming. Yet God faithfully uses His Word to reveal Himself.
When Sophie prayed a simple prayer asking God to help her understand what she was reading, God answered.
The Bible is not merely information to study; it is God’s living Word that transforms hearts. Sometimes understanding comes gradually. Other times God opens our eyes in a powerful moment.
Either way, every time we open Scripture with humble hearts, God is faithful to meet us.

Prayer
Lord, open my heart as I read Your Word. Help me understand You more clearly and shape my life through Your truth. Amen.
Day 4: God Meets Us in Every Season
Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Life’s hardest seasons often become the places where we experience God’s presence most deeply.
Loneliness. Parenting. Anxiety. Uncertainty. These are not signs that God has abandoned us, they are often opportunities to discover His faithfulness.
God met Sophie during the overwhelming season of caring for young children far from family. He reminded her she was never alone.
Perhaps your current season feels exhausting. Remember this: God doesn’t wait for life to become easier before drawing near.
He walks with you right where you are.

Father, thank You for never leaving me. Help me trust that You are walking beside me in every circumstance. Amen.
Day 5: A Changed Life
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
The evidence of knowing Jesus isn’t perfection.
It’s transformation.
As we walk with Christ, He patiently changes us from the inside out. We become more loving, more patient, more forgiving, more joyful—not because we are trying harder, but because His Spirit is working within us.
Transformation is often gradual. Looking back, however, we can clearly see God’s fingerprints all over our lives.
The same God who changes hearts today is still making all things new.

Jesus, thank You for making me new. Continue Your work in me so that my life reflects Your love and grace to those around me. Amen.
Closing Thought
Every testimony is ultimately a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
No matter where your journey has taken you, Jesus is still calling, still pursuing, still forgiving, and still transforming lives. May this week remind you that the God who met Sophie is the same God who meets each of us today.
