After losing someone very precious to me I met with Debbie and worked through "Beyond the Broken Heart". As I dealt with such deep, deep grief, I really appreciated talking with someone who had been through something similar. Debbie has such a heart for the Lord and such a love for people. The time spent talking with Debbie was much appreciated and needed. I'm thankful Debbie has felt the call to minister to people during such difficult times.

Stories of Hope and Healing
Grieving the loss of a loved one is an incredibly difficult time in someone's life. It is an emotional roller-coaster that is difficult to navigate and seemingly impossible to disembark from. When my wife of 44 years lost her battle with cancer I was totally unprepared for a life without her and to say I had many "up and downs" as I struggled with my new reality as a widower, would be an understatement.
So what do you do? Everyone deals with the grieving process differently and while it is true that over time, the pain of a loss will diminish as we "get on with getting on", there is help available. One of the best decisions I ever made, was to join Debbie's Grief Ministry group and our weekly meetings became a very important part of my healing journey.
The Grief Ministry program is well thought out, interesting, thought provoking and challenging. However what really makes this program work is Debbie herself! Her ability to share her experiences with grieving, her quiet compassionate nature and her ability to facilitate conversation on difficult topics within the group was remarkable and healing. These meetings became an important part of my life and certainly were very helpful as I navigated the "rough road" of healing from a great loss.
I should also mention that Debbie is an excellent baker and always brought delicious treats to our meetings!!
Even though we were going through different stages of grief and came from different life experiences, it was comforting and healing to gather with others who were experiencing the same emotions and heartache. It was a safe space where others would actively listen and I knew they understood and could identify with what I was experiencing. It was helpful to just talk things through instead of keeping it bottled up inside. Gathering together once a week with others who understood my grief helped me to feel and know that I was not alone in this journey, and that was a comfort to me.
